Spreading Magic with A Moment of Magic at UNC Charlotte

A Moment of Magic is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to serving the medically and socially vulnerable children of the world. This looks like visiting the pediatric unit of children’s hospitals, going to Ronald McDonald homes, visiting homes of the medically and socially vulnerable, domestic violence shelters, and so much more! We are given the unique and wonderful opportunity to impact these children and to spread magic throughout their days. Chapters exist all across the country, and communities are shaped around this idea of being Brave, Strong, and Fearless. This is a mantra and an idea that children can take with them every step of the way, whether that is in the classroom, on the playground, or at a doctor's appointment. 

What does “A Moment of Magic” look like at UNC Charlotte? At UNC Charlotte, we are very proud of the steps that we take to be as active in the community as possible! We are proud to be the very first and only chapter to have an African American president. We are composed of many different backgrounds and characters of people, we meet in our very own Popp Martin Student Union, and we visit Levine’s Children hospital, work with the local Miracle League, and have hosted events on campus. Just recently, we have been bumping up our fundraising activity and have begun with a Valentine's Day special Jelly Cat Raffle, moving on to a Coffee Fundraiser, and looking ahead, we are moving towards a Pet Rock Fundraiser! We truly love the mission and the children that we serve, and we are beyond excited for all of the things that we will accomplish this semester!
