Where Members Should Invest and Advance
The Investment Club Empowers Members in Their Personal Investments, Careers, and Personal Growth
The Investment Club at UNC Charlotte is focused on three main pillars for its members. First and foremost, the Club educates attendees about the stock market and investing, equipping students with lifelong knowledge that will help them save for retirement, a home, and other large purchases.
Additionally, the Club is committed to empowering members toward more successful careers. The Club hosts resume presentations and elevator pitches to help members introduce themselves effectively to potential employers, as well as leadership opportunities to further both professional and personal growth.
Between social meet-ups, regular Sunday meetings, and advanced roundtable discussions during the week, the Investment Club includes many opportunities to connect and learn from other members. In the spring 2026 semester, the club also visited Equitable Advisors' world headquarters, a multi-billion-dollar national financial services and wealth management firm.
The Club has a deep connection with the Belk College of Business through our faculty advisor, Dr. Yufeng Han, which led to the acceptance of nine Investment Club members out of 13 accepted into the prestigious Student Managed Investment Fund for the 2026-2027 school year.
Throughout the Spring semester, Club members split into teams to analyze a company and track its stock, building reports and presentations to show why their team's analysis was best for a hypothetical investor. The winning team was chosen to represent the Club publicly, with their research featured by Yahoo Finance. To date, the Club's public analyst has attracted over $60 million in follower assets on the Yahoo platform.
Members can collaborate and learn from each other throughout the stock pitch competition process. These skills will benefit them throughout their lives as they go through different stages of financial decisions.
Looking ahead, we're excited to present at upcoming University-sponsored events to reach the newest class of freshmen and carry forward the programs that have already impacted hundreds of Charlotte 49ers.
